Empty bug exoskeleton

Bug Suit

I predict a good year for stinkbugs. A casual survey revealed several bugs within my field of view on most of the bushes I looked at. Not all of them were brown marmorated stink bugs, the invasive alien that has been sweeping across the U.S. in recent years. However, many of them were. When I got home, I found one with his proboscis stuck into a pear on the tree in my front yard. As fall approaches, they’ll be in the house once again. In the present image, we have an empty exoskeleton left behind as the bug molted into a more mature stage. I found several of these as well. Peer inside! This image was taken with a Micro-Nikkor 6omm AF and a Nikon D90.
