The last of the autumn leaves are falling. The Norway maples (Acer platanoides) are among the last to drop. Their large, bright yellow leaves cover the forest floor here. Norway maples are not native to North America, but they do show a lovely yellow. Image taken with a Nikon D90 and the Micro-Nikkor 60mm AF.
Is the tiny image size an artistic decision, or hiding a soft image? You be the judge.

A yellow autumn leaf from red maple, Acer rubrum. I shot this leaf, still attached to its twig, against a blue and white sky. Tinkering with Aperture removed the background for a very isolating effect. The lens was a Nikon Nikkor 18-55mm AF-S VR.
