Rainbow Room: Rokinon 8mm Fisheye

This conservatory room is the most successful fisheye photograph I have taken thus far. The subject is everything. Well, it’s always everything in photography, but more so with a specialty lens like a fisheye. The trick is that the fisheye (or whatever specialty lens you are using) should actually “enable” the photograph, to enhance the subject in a way that would be difficult another way. A conservatory room like this is a good test. The ultra-wide angle encompasses the scope of the room without fighting to fit it all in the field of view. As a result you get the big picture: the overall theme of the room is clear–perhaps more than with even the naked eye. This is because with this photograph you see it all without turning your head as you must even in the actual room.
