Spiral Tower Shell

Spiral Tower

This spiraled shell, lit from above, is reminiscent of an asian pagoda crossed-bred with neon lights. This is lit with a strong LED flashlight. I used a Nikon D90 with an 18-55mm VR DX AF-S lens. Everything was hand held. ISO 1600, f/5.3, 1/60 sec, 46mm focal length. I have enjoyed playing with this LED flashlight and camera. It’s a very pure, white light. It has a hint of blue, like bright daylight from a mid-day sunny sky. The shell is an member of the Turritellidae snail family, also know as turret snails or tower snails. Check the related posts for more fun with shells and this flashlight.
