Tufted Titmouse with sunflower seed on bird feeder

Titmouse Treasure

This photograph is not as much a product itself but rather a test of my rig. I have a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 70-300mm AF-S ED VR and a Nikon SB-500 Speedlight on a Manfrotto tripod. All available from Amazon at reasonable prices. Get yours today! I am aiming at angle through a glass window to reduce reflection from the glass. This is a crop; however, not because I can’t get close enough to fill the frame, but rather that I am so close that it is difficult to keep the subject in the frame at 300mm. I am actually at 185 mm here. All we need now are come cooperative birds. The tufted titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor) made a good first effort. I don’t think it totally works, but the movement blur sparks some interest.
