Today’s One Picture a Day is simply a portrait of a workhorse lens for the amateur photographer. That workhorse is the Nikon 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G VR AF-S DX Nikkor. I’ve praised it many times in this blog. It’s a kit lens, it’s cheap, it’s plastic, but it’s good. I’ll let the other posts I have made speak for its virtues. I took this photograph because I wanted a different perspective for another post about the best cheap nikon lenses. It tool some effort to get the lens clean; and you can see a few battle scars on the ring around the objective. The image was taken with another great lens, the Micro-Nikkor 60mm AF f/2.8.
